Dating And Relationship Advice From Best-Selling Author Chris Odom

Chris Odom has written a much-discussed book on male-female relationships.   Here are some dating advice tips from Odom’s book that our panel recommends.

Dating Advice Tips:

  • Don’t talk about weird, creepy or stupid topics.
  • Don’t be a show-off.  It’s cool to get attention, but it’s very uncool to be perceived as seeking it.
  • Don’t ask a bunch of questions.  Instead of asking her where she’s from, make a guess.  You might say “Arkansas.”  She’ll probably ask you why you guessed Arkansas.  You can give her a reason, maybe a ridiculous reason, and she will giggle.  Whether you were right or not, you want her to contribute to the conversation.  “But you want her to do so because she is attracted, not because you are forcing the conversation along with lots of questions.”
  • Be agreeable.  You don’t always have to be right.  Don’t take yourself too seriously.  Remember why you’re here.  It’s certainly not to win an argument.
