How To Prepare A Speech

Speech Giving:   A Checklist For Successful Speeches And Sales Presentations

The following steps will lead to success, whether to make a sale or do a speech for Toastmasters:

One    Study successful communicators as you would study a book for a test.  One of the greatest of all communicators was Abraham Lincoln.  Learn Lincoln’s secrets.

Two.  Incorporate effective techniques that you observe in others into your own repertoire of communication skills.

Three.  Expand your use of stories; try using a short story in a sales presentation or to make a point in a political discussion.

Four.  Use stories to begin and end your presentations.

Five.  Craft your stories to fit the interests and the attention span of your listeners.

Six.  Edit your stories so that every scrap of unnecessary information is deleted.
