A New Mouth In The South
Just south of Dalton, Georgia on I-75, there’s a big billboard that mixes religion with politics.
“Every Tongue Will Confess That Jesus Is Lord, Even Democrats.”
The town of Dalton is where Donald Trump held a rally on his last trip to Georgia. It drew thousands of adoring followers, most of them unmasked
Dalton is located in the gerrymandered 14th Congressional district.
It’s the new political home of Marjorie Taylor Greene. She’s not from there but she figured she would get a lot of sympathy in Dalton for her brand of Qanon conspiracy politics.
Greene, like Trump, loves guns, despises Democrats, and hates masks. She has mocked mask wearers on Twitter.
Dalton is located in Whitfield County, which ranks second-highest among the state’s 159 countries in confirmed Covid cases.
Nobody who believes in a cause-and-effect world is surprised about that.
Maybe the billboard should have another Bible verse.
“THEY HAVE SOWN THE WIND, AND THEY SHALL REAP THE WHIRLWIND”
—Hoses 8:7
